Subject: Leaving Pentacostal Church Date: Tue, 08 Apr 2003 13:57:42 -0400 (EDT) To: tracy@jesus-is-lord.com Dear Tracy, I've been reading on your site for a while. Currently, my husband and I have been enlightened as to the deception we've been under at out current church (Assembly of God). We've been there about 10mos. I feel as though there is a demonic blindfold over your eyes when you read God's word and attend an unbiblical church like that. You begin to agree with their doctrine, and I have definately seen and felt unscriptural things take place there. Very similar to some of the testimonies I've read on your site of others' experiences in pent./char. churches. I've also personally witnessed a Benny Hinn healing crusade. I feel so deceived. I attended bible-believing churches prior to this one, and fell prey to pent/char. teachings through "christian television". It "turned away my ears from the truth, and I was turned unto fables" 2Tim. 4:4. I know this now. God's true Holy Spirit has convicted me. I feel a tremendous, oppressive weight lifted from me. I have repented of all these unbiblical beliefs and works, and my husband and I are currently looking for a new church. We are a bit apprehensive of the repercussions from our old church, as we held ministry and teaching positions. Any thoughts, counsel or other info. you could reccomend would be appreciated. [Tracy's note: I do not have my response at this time. The next email is in response to my response.] Dear sister-in-Christ, Thanks for your counsel. That is exactly the direction my husband is heading in. He had one meeting with the pastors (over a different issue I may add), and their scriptural positions came out - women as pastors was ok, ecumenical unity was necessary and a few others that do not line up with the word of God. He knew right then what decision was necessary. His plans are to speak with the senior pastor today and inform him of our disassociation with that church. We have gone back to the first church we attended after being saved ( an independent, fundamental, King James Baptist church ). I sat there Wed. night, heard God's word preached, and wondered why we had fallen for such garbage at the Pent. church. In any event, I know that God will use that experience of ours to help others avoid the deception and apostasy - Romans 8:28. You have my full permission to print whatever may help another to avoid this LIE straight from the pits of hell. The biggest caution I could give another is to be extremely careful and discerning about which ministries you listen to or whose books you read. They are not all preaching the same gospel, Gal. 1:8-9. Dear Sister Tracy, thank you again for your website. It was truly a God-send for us. Yours in Christ, J
