Interlude: Print out and bind your own Authorized King James Bibles.
Publishers are tampering with the Authorized King James Bible--including Cambridge which is altering the spelling and calling it "Standardized Text." They are also adding cartoon illustrations and other things to boys and girls KJVs. These publishers are flooding the market with counterfeit Bibles like the NIV and people are buying them--but that is not enough for them. They put their grimy fingers all over the real Bible, the Authorized King James Bible, change it around, and then offer that toxic brew to us--and we buy it.
We are not beholden to the heathen. We can download, print out, and bind our own AUTHORIZED King James Bibles for free (excepting the cost of office supplies). We have an excellent download available that looks really good. In examining it, I've looked up verses where common alterations can occur and have found no alterations in this "Pure Cambridge Edition" as it is called (Cambridge is one of the three places where the King James Bible was translated). I've printed out the entire Bible (two-sided), bound it with a modification of our special bookbinding method, and examined the text further. In the days to come, I look to read it closely, very closely. My child wants her own copy so we'll get to work on that soon, Lord willing. Bible publishing was an interesting, enjoyable, and liberating project with a phenomenal result--our very own first publishing of the entire Bible in one volume.
