Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Genesis 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.



God created the blue whale. The blue whale is the largest animal ever known to mankind. There has never been a dinosaur found that comes close to the size of a blue whale. Blue whales are longer and more massive than the biggest dinosaurs that have ever been found--in fact, the blue whale is more than twice as big as the biggest dinosaur ever found. We need not go back "millions of years" (the earth is not millions of years old--there is no "evolution".) to find the largest animals ever known--the largest animals are still right here with us today. The longest recorded dinosaur was approximately 80 feet long. The largest recorded blue whale was 110 feet or longer--numbers vary depending on whom you read. According to some sources, the largest blue whales can weigh from 170-200 tons (that is a whopping 340,000 to 400,000 pounds!). The tongue of a blue whale can weigh as much as an elephant (12,000-14,000 pounds).

  • His mouth is 20 feet long
  • His heart the size of a small car
  • His blood weighs 20,000 pounds
  • His sound can travel 60 miles
  • His body shape is sleeker and more streamlined than even the most modern submarine

The whale is the only animal mentioned by name in the Genesis account of creation. There are different types of whales, but out of all the whales, the blue whale is the biggest that we know of (it seems that lately people are beginning to make up fairy stories about animals they have made up in their own imagination, replete with pictures of these imaginations--we cannot believe everything that we read) . The blue whale is the biggest animal in the world.

The blue whale is found in all the seas of the world, but it has been hunted almost to extinction by commercial fishermen and its waters have been fouled by the polluting products of today's corporations aggravated by the irresponsible waste management programs of various governments and by the pollution contributions of thoughtless and careless consumers.

What may be recorded as an average-sized blue whale today--although quite large--may quite possibly be much smaller than the averages that we would find if blue whales were able to live out their lives outside of the torpedo-like technology used by commercial whalers and outside of the incessant industrial wastes that pollute the waters where the blue whale lives.

*****THE BLUE WHALE IS A GREAT FISH*****

The Authorized Version of the Bible teaches us that the whale is a great fish (ref. Jonah 1:17, Matthew 12:40).

Unfortunately, evolutionists incorrectly teach that the whale is not a fish but rather a "mammal" like a dog, or a cat, or a gorilla, or an elephant, or a zebra, or a bear, or a goat, or a fox, or a bat--this is not true. Anyone unaffected by the proclamations of evolutionists would look at a picture of a blue whale swimming and see a great, huge, colossal, humongous fish swimming through the sea, not a "mammal" akin to a dog or a cat. We know that the whale is a fish because the word of God, the Authorized Version of the Bible, makes this very clear--in Jonah chapter one we see that the prophet Jonah was swallowed by a great fish and then in Matthew 12:40, the Lord Jesus Christ reveals that that great fish was a whale. Let's look at the scriptures--

The prophet Jonah was swallowed by a great fish--
Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:17

In Matthew 12:40, the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Creator, revealed that the great fish that swallowed up Jonah was a whale--

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

The whale is exactly what it looks like--a fish, a huge fish that goes to the surface of the water for his oxygen. He was created with his own unique and amazing anatomy, physiology and habits according to what God ordained for him to have.

***** BLUE WHALES ARE BALEEN WHALES *****

There are different types of whales with different characteristics. Some whales, like the sperm whale, have teeth. Others, like the blue whale, have baleen which hangs down in fringes like curtains. The baleen strips are about 40 inches long (over three feet long). The blue whales open up their cavernous mouths and take in huge amounts of water and food and then close their mouths. The baleen acts like a filter--the water gushes out through the baleen while the food is trapped inside the whale's mouth so that he can swallow it.

Blue whales breathe in air through their nostrils which are located on top of their heads. It is said that they can hold their breath for about 30 minutes, after which time they come to the surface of the water to blow out water and to take in air. Although blue whales breathe air, they cannot live on land. They die if they are stranded on land--they need the water to support their heavy bodies so that they can breathe.

***** YOUNG BLUE WHALES *****

Unlike many fish, the whale gives live birth to its young ones, which many today call "calves" [Note: it is kine/cows have calves; fish do not have calves].

  • Blue whale young are born after a gestation of approximately 12 months.
  • They are about 25 feet long at birth.
  • Weight: 3-7 tons (size estimates vary widely amongst authors)
  • In six months blue whale young can double their length and be ten times as heavy.
  • Diet: their mother's rich milk. Like all whales, the blue whale draws out the breast and gives suck to its young ones--
    Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones... Lamentations 4:3

    Blue whale young drink many gallons of their mother's rich milk everyday (I've seen estimates ranging from 50 to 100 gallons per day) and can gain 200 pounds in a single day.

    • ***** MATURE BLUE WHALES *****

    Blue whales usually live alone except for when a mother is looking after her young. When there are a lot of krill* you may find a crowd of blue whales dining together, although living separately.

    *Krill are small shrimp-like animals that grow up to about two inches long. Krill form a major part of the blue whale's diet. Blue whales can eat up to two tons (4,000 pounds) of krill daily.

    The lifespan of blue whales in the wild is estimated to be 80-90 years, if they can manage to live out their years without being hunted down and killed.

    ***** THE FUTURE OF THE BLUE WHALE *****

    Modern man has used his technological advances to overhunt, overwhelm, and decimate blue whale populations so that now there may only be a few hundreds of blue whales that swim the world's seas. It is said that the Japanese market may be the largest for whale products while other markets include the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

    In spite of conservation efforts, whales are not only still being commercially hunted, but their feeding grounds and their environment are being polluted as the nations of the world allow corporations to generate and pump industrial wastes into the seas and as careless consumers and governments cast in their share of polluting materials and plastic. In gyres in the ocean, floating plastic pieces can outnumber krill 10 to 1 and plankton 6 to 1. How can a beast survive with a belly full of plastic? This pollution problem affects many sea animals, not just the blue whale. The outlook for this world is bleak and it is only going to continue to worsen. The Bible teaches us that if God did not shorten these last days, no flesh should be saved--but for the elect's sakes (the Christians), these days will be shortened.     ***** HOW CAN WE HELP THE BLUE WHALE AND HOW CAN WE LIVE MORE RESPONSIBLY? *****

    How can we help the blue whale and live more responsibly? Here are just a few ideas--

    • We can grow some of our own food and cook it and store it in re-usable containers--and then we will not be creating pollution by throwing away so-called disposable plastic and other types of containers.
    • We can use reusable grocery bags when we do our grocery shopping instead of getting plastic bags at the store.
    • We can buy more whole foods and pack our healthy lunches in re-usable containers instead of buying small portions of processed foods in disposable containers and throwing them away.
    • We can eat healthy meals at home instead of purchasing fast food and throwing away the bags, containers, forks, spoons, knives, napkins, etc.
    • We can repurpose plastic bottles, glass jars, tin cans, and other items that can be used for other purposes. A glass jar with a lid can be cleaned out and used for drinking glass with its very own lid. It's nice for ice water on a warm summer's day.
    • We can recycle plastic bags, newspapers, plastic bottles, glass, cans, and other recyclables.
    • We can stop using polluting chemicals on our yards and in other places like in our plumbing systems. We can research alternatives as we come across challenges in our homes.

    The idea is to constantly look for ways that we can be good stewards of the earth and how we can decrease our negative environmental impact on the earth so that we are not destroying it and its inhabitants, i.e., people, beasts (like the blue whale), and plants. [Aside: this statement about protecting the environment has nothing to do with the ubiquitous manufactured global warming/carbon/C02 warnings being broadcasted. This manufactured threat appears to be aimed at taking away people's rights and property and money under the guise of helping those same people (and the environment), e.g., carbon "credits" which would perhaps be better named carbon "penalties"--the money from which ostensibly goes to support "projects." I've read that they have even gone so far as to say that people breathing out carbon dioxide is a problem. People breathing out carbon dioxide is not the problem. Man has been breathing for millennia with no problem and, from what I've heard, the seas themselves give off most of the CO2--they are not a problem, either. There is a pollution problem in the earth--but the breathing of ordinary people is not the problem. The problem is these huge corporations that are polluting earth, sea, and air at-will with their products and by-products. And what about the "geoengineering" that is going on with the planes constantly flying through the sky spreading "stuff" (I've heard it is aluminum and barium which are not good for our health, who knows what else is on the horizon) all in the atmosphere while the masses remain silent and largely ignorant. Those in power who are truly concerned with the environment would make a real impact if they shut down the real polluters--the big corporations--and gave each family a few acres of land (the earth is not overpopulated, people are bunched up in cities. Around the world, many have lost their homelands--they have been plundered--and it was not by the so-called "capitalists."), taught them how to till it and raise crops, and supplied them a few goats, a flock of chickens, and some needful skills. Then man would be well on his way to a pollution-free environment...]
